Please kill the bots in the begining otherwise they get in the way of the elevators. If any of the elevators return to their starting position its because you are not standing in the center of them. Some of the spaces that the elevators go through and finish up at are tight- especially the elevator from the bottom space (Slims space) up to the meeting space, if your standing too far back in it it will just return to its starting position.

The meeting space in the middle, Carlos Slim's grand, extravent, mexican style office space and above in the bridge is Ratan Tata's modern, inconspicious office space.

Meeting space in the begining without the dining table (also without 1 wall however it is not displayed in this image as it is the wall that is behind the camera.)The meeting space is a combination of modern and Mexican styles, the chairs represent the positions that the clients would be seated. The chairs are both on podiums for they represent the clients both sitting tall (respresenting their power) at the table. Notice the chairs are also different hights!

Meeting space with dining table. The elevator from Carlos Slim's office space moves up to become the table. ( The wall of the meeting space- not in this view- comes down with Ratan Tata's elevator to complete the meeting space. The meeting space can not survive without the two clients both coming to the meeting space.)

Carlos Slims Mexican style, extravagent, oversized courtyard. Courtyard defines the plane in which his office space sits underneath. The courtyard gives the viewer the opporunity to realise they are located far below the bridge.

The inside of Carlos Slims office. His office is in the far corner of this space forcing Slim to experience and realise the size and extravagence of his office Space. Slim has a large office to re-enforce his greedy and monopolising power.

Carlos Slims private courtyard and plush elevator. Slims elevator takes him on a journey to further view the overwhelming size of his office space.

Ratan Tata's Space represent the inside of the bridge and the way in which Tata recieved his fortune and power. Tata's space is risky and the movement inside it represents the ups and downs of his career.

The textures represent the movement of the elevators.

Ratan Tata's Office space is modern, crisp and minimalist. Tata is interested becoming international.

Tata's elevator takes a dive down through this tunnel, often (seeing the light) through gaps in the heavy dark texture. Representing the dives and recoveries that he has experienced throughout his journey to wealth and power.

Textures used in one of the journey spaces, the wall textures represent (codebreaking) and the end texture is the (conclusion or resolution)

Tip

My tip is to help you start the design idea process...

I think the best way to get inspired when given a new design brief...(especially if your stuck, or not too sure about what you are being asked.....) is to spend some time looking through books or on the web researching ideas and especially images of all the possibilities... this should help to give you direction and hopefully come up with more sophisiticated ideas.

Table styles

Traditional mexican table- Carlos Slim would almost certainly own one of these.

Ratan Tata is interested in being international and therefore his chosen style of table would probably be a modern one.

a combination of both would create a harmonious atmosphere where by both clients would feel at home.

Ideas for my elevator

An elevator can be a journey- revealing spaces and architecture. The elevator can create architecture- move into a space to bridge a gap, can be intertwined with the architecture-can move up, between and around, under and above spaces and can be slow or fast, open or closed, an elevator can give a different perspective that can only be seen from the elevators path, elevators can be unnecessary, inconvenient, the size of a skinny step or as big as a room, the top of elevator could be the bottom of the table, the side could move up to be the meeting spaces wall, could rotate mid flight, -maybe without you even knowing, could move away fast and enclosed then return slowly without walls to give specific viewpoint.

Examples of office spaces

A nice way of dividing office spaces

An idea of how personal an office space can be- depending on the individual

An example of how 'unindividual' an office space can be. generally offices are genetic in architectural sense therefore it is up to the individual to create a sense of place within it.

an example of some office spaces, note how the colour changes the mood of the spaces.

This image deals with office layout, common areas and segregate office spaces, it has really nice natural light qualities and uses furnature and flooring elements (rugs, tiles and carpet) to define spaces.

I'm not quite sure what this image is but I included it because I thought the lighting and textures were very interesting. It shows how much effect that light and textures can have on the distortion and emotion of the image.

This image deals with the relationship that an interior office space can have with the outside.
